Choosing a Pediatrician

Every child should have their own physician to help ensure that they grow up as healthy as possible. Choosing the right doctor is important. Talking with other moms is a great place to start. But be sure you meet a doctor before you make your decision. Just because your friend or relative is pleased with a certain doctor doesn’t mean that you will be. Often, you can schedule an interview visit to meet a doctor. Some will charge for this visit and some will not, it’s a good idea to ask about the charges first.

Convenient Locations

St. John Health Pediatricians have office locations at St. John Hospital and Medical Center and throughout southeastern Michigan. And you can be comforted knowing that St. John Pediatricians have a strong relationship with St. John Pediatric Subspecialists. That means if your child needs specialized care for any reason, you will have access to a board-certified pediatric specialty physician on staff at St. John who will work with your child's doctor to provide the highest level of care for your child's specific needs.

Inpatient Care

St. John Health provides pediatric hospitalization at St. John Hospital, Providence Hospital and St. John River District Hospital. For children who will be staying with us for an extended period of time, Child Life coordinators, who are certified teachers, help kids keep up with their homework, enjoy play time and generally ease the stress and isolation that can result from a chronic illness and extended hospital stay. The Pediatric units also have a playroom, library and a large collection of toys, video games and state-of-the-art computers for both structured and unstructured activities.
