When patients are diagnosed with cancer, they often ask, “Where can I get the best treatment?” Naturally, patients and their families want to do everything possible to beat the disease, and obtain the best available care. And too often, patients sacrifice convenience in the process. I am pleased to report that we have changed all that.

We established the Van Elslander Cancer Center to provide the highest level of care for all cancer patients — in a unique uncompromising environment. While patients once had to travel to many different sites for various phases of their care, the Van Elslander Cancer Center now provides everything patients need in a single building. Diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, radiation oncology, chemotherapy, transfusion, outpatient surgery, mammography and a breast cancer center are just a few of the services we offer. And because our staff shares a common site, our patients receive beneficial multidisciplinary care, with attention from experts in different fields. We are also affiliated with several cooperative cancer therapy groups and academic institutions. That means the Center provides cutting-edge cancer treatment, through a multitude of clinical trials conducted by experts who achieve the highest standards of qualification in their fields.

The Van Elslander Cancer Center also recognizes the importance of the soul to the healing process, and it shows in the way our facility has been structured. Visitors will experience a soothing environment with amenities like the Healing Garden and labyrinth walk, and the Healing Arts Center.

In short, the philosophy of the Van Elslander Cancer Center is to provide state-of-the-art multidisciplinary care for cancer patients in a unique healing and facilitating environment. I am proud to be a part of this exciting and wonderful concept. When someone you love has cancer, you will do whatever it takes to help them. The Van Elslander Cancer Center staff and I will, too!
