Expanding and Renovating
|

The hospital has embarked on a $163 million expansion and renovation project that will transform our ability to be a world-class, regional destination for primary and advanced medical care and research. The project, to be completed in 2008, will add square footage and capacity, and enhance services and patient satisfaction through its innovative design.

Enhancements include:

A new main entrance and three-story atrium lobby, leading to a new Pavilion. The design will provide easy access to patient services and more convenient parking.

A new 250,000 square-foot Pavilion, with 144 large, private rooms that will adapt to patient conditions.

|
A new Diagnostic Imaging Center that will bring all imaging modalities—nuclear imaging, vascular imaging, CT scanning, MRI, ultrasound and X-ray—together in one location adjacent to the new lobby.

A new Heart and Circulatory Center that will upgrade and consolidate all cardiovascular and vascular services in one area conveniently located off the new main entrance.

An expanded, redesigned Emergency department that will be twice the size it is now, with 70 large, private treatment rooms and a separate ambulance entrance.

$30 Million Raised - $2 Million More Needed
A project of this magnitude requires substantial financial resources. Of the $163 million total cost, St. John Hospital has raised $30 million through a capital campaign to help complete this historic project. Many families in the community have made major gifts to the campaign. Community organizations have joined together to raise essential funds. The St. John Guild and Fontbonne Auxiliary have made generous commitments to this project. Physicians and hospital employees have opened their hearts and pocketbooks to support this campaign. An Exclusive Donor Preview was recently held for top philanthropic donors to celebrate the opening of the Van Elslander Pavilion.
But we still need your help. While $30 million has been raised, the campaign will continue until the new Guild Emergency Center opens in December 2008, and the hospital needs to raise at least $2 million more to meet additional expenses.
